A Sword for the Living

Updated: Sep 1, 2025

When you think back on the struggles you have been through in your life...the people who hurt you in ways that you should never have had to experience either as a child or an adult. The anxiety, the hurt, the scars and imprint left on you by those struggles.

As time continues there will always be a reflective image or flashback of those struggles. Tears may well up inside you and feel like the cut of the knife…to what someone took from you, stripped from you, feeling just as fresh as it was the day all these things happened to you.

You can survive those feelings because the struggles have made you stronger and resilient. You no longer must remain a victim to those times or any new ones. I say this because prayer and faith are your sword to overcome. Prayer and faith are everlasting and never hurt you. You do not need someone to understand what you went through or are going through; although they mean well in trying to understand what you have been through and trying to be there for you.

However, it is not their battle or their struggles, it is yours alone. But the sword is always unselfish and provides you a sense of belonging; a strength that no one person can provide you. Carry this sword with you into battles both past and present as it is your armor from God letting you know it is going to be fine. You will be fine and survive better than you could ever imagine. Struggles are hard, painful, and drain your energy. But with a faithful sword in place, you can withstand and persevere.

Carry your sword and allow it to help you fight your way and find your way.
